ITV's flagship current affairs programme 'Tonight with Trevor McDonald'is coming to film with the ex-pat community in Florida. We are keen to hear from anyone who has had an experience of moving to Florida, or buying a second home there, who thinks their story might be a good lesson to others.
What are the pitfalls to watch out for? What sort of difficulties do you come up against? Do you have to prepare yourself for some home-sickness, hard times as well as good? Have you had legal problems, either with your property or employment? Did you want to return to Britain, or maybe you are in the process of doing so? Maybe you are reading this from Britain and have given up on your American dream? If so, please get in touch at the above address.
Many thanks,
Siobhan Sinnerton,
Producer, Tonight with Trevor McDonald

I am married with 3 children and we have visited Florida 4 times. Two years ago we decide to try and emigrate, and so far we have had no luck. We have no relatives over there but we have tried the H1 route as I am into IT as you can see from my resume at www.sellars-family.com/resume/1m.html and also the National Interest Waiver route. Now we are considering buying a small business over there such as a small motel. Does anyone know if this is a good way to get a visa. I know there is an investors visa but I don't have a million dollars. All help and advice welcome. We would love to settle on the Gulf Coast from Crystal River down to Naples. mark.sellars@virgin.net
